New Built Vessels
Albwardy Marine Engineering started the new building in 1997 with the construction of vessel s “Abdul Aziz.K” and “Umm-Alhoul”, the two harbor tugs for Qatar Gas and Petroleum Company. Since then Albwardy Marine started building variety of vessels including pleasure boats, self propelled barges, jet fuel barges, multipurpose anchor handling tugs, offshore hose handling boats , harbour and costal tugs, cutter suction dredgers and different types of work boats and mooring boats.
One of the prestigious projects, 27 meter ‘FLYING ANGEL’, the first vessel of its kind for supporting the seafarers at sea, built for Mission to Seafarer’s FZCO was delivered in February 2007 and the naming ceremony was done HRH Prince Charles. The vessel is now operating in east coast anchorage of UAE. The contract to build 5 boats for Nakilat-Svitzer Wijsmuller WLL was a major milestone in Albwardy’s new construction. Albwardy timely delivered 3x 15 meter Harbour mooring Boats (RL-30, RL-31 & RL-32) and 2x Offshore Hose-Line Handling Vessels (Al Wosail & Al Owainat) in early 2007 with high quality.
In 2008, Albwardy’s Joint venture partnership with Damen Shipyards further increased the number of new construction and Albwardy started building Damen’s standard vessels with Damen’s Quality of Standards. Damen Stantug 1606, Damen MultiCat 1506, Damen Cutter Suction Dredger CSD500 being constructed at the yard. The fist series of Stan tugs built at yard has already been delivered to Team Shipping Company and Jan De Nul Dredging company.The First of CSD500 and MuC 1506 ‘DMS Robin’ has also been delivered successfully.
Albwardy acquired new spaces in Al Jadaf, and a fully equipped outfitting yard has been set up for the stream lined production of vessels to cop up the increase in new building orders. With a fully fledged yard and experienced employees, Albwardy is ready to meet the qualitative and timely requirement of the customers in the field of small vessels.
