Galilei 2000
Jan De Nul’s 84m Split Hopper Dredger Galilei 2000 was outfitted with a jet system & a self-emptying system with rainbow & bow discharge facilities. To accommodate this, the ship’s structure & systems were efficiently modified. The main jobs included:

• A complete new jet water system was installed on the suction pipe, including installing a new jet pump & motor. This involved the implementation of a new hydraulic system, new winches, new gantries & a new deck crane.
• A complete hopper emptying system was installed, including new extractors in the hopper. In order to empty the hopper, a complete jet water system was installed in the hopper as well.
• Installation of a new bow coupling & rainbow installation.
• Installation of a new sea chest in the pump room.
