Albwardy Diving Services
ADS was founded in 1995 due to the ever-growing importance of vessel maintenance required outside of dry-docking. Capital investments were made in purchasing the very latest diving and underwater maintenance equipment, with the understanding that only the highest standards of workmanship are acceptable. The division currently has a team of 20 commercial divers.Ongoing

training has led to six divers now being HSE1 qualified and two divers for underwater welding. A.D.S is based at our Port of Fujairah facility. An immediate and 24 hour service for hull cleaning, propeller super polishing, in water surveys and blanking of sea chests is available to shipping in the Gulf region.
Understandably, all the major classification societies have approved Albwardy Diving Services.
Pre-docking
In cases where vessels must go into dry-dock for major services, a pre-docking service is available to completely clean a hull from fouling and loose paint. This is an extremely useful service, considering it could save up to two days in dry-dock time.
In-Water Repairs
A.D.S. is able to offer a variety of in-water repair services including sea chest blanking, stress crack termination, anode retrofits, wet and dry welding applications. Utilizing a range of open and closed cofferdams, we are able to crop corroded /pitted bottom shell plating and dry-weld in situ, new steel plate inserts whilst the vessel is afloat. Such renewals are to class requirements and are a permanent repair. Our highly trained divers are able to carry out detailed damage surveys enabling precise repairs being made. In-water repairs can save valuable time and money outside the dry-dock.
Anchor/Chain Cable Recovery
For Fujairah and Khor Fakkan anchorages: A.D.S. has the necessary equipment and expertise for anchor and chain cable recovery.
Service Standard
These are just some of the many operations that Albwardy Diving Services undertake. The division

is committed to providing the best possible service and at the same time offering outstanding value for money. This is demonstrated by the accreditation of ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System to Albwardy Marine Engineering by ABS Quality Evaluations.
In Water Surveys
Albwardy Diving Services is approved by the major classification societies.
Propeller Polishing
Increased fuel consumption can be credited to badly fouled propellers. If not polished correctly, the fouling quickly re-establishes itself on a rough propeller. A.D.S. uses the very latest in hydraulic polishing machinery, the "Triton 1" with a selection of intermediate and fine grain polishing pads, resulting in a polished finish to the highest standards of less than One Micron C.L.A. This is equivalent to Rubert Grade 'A' comparative scale. Close up and standoff photography is provided to demonstrate the standard of polishing carried out.
Underwater Hull Cleaning
It is no secret that marine growth left on a vessel's hull can increase fuel costs by up to 15%. It is equally important that whilst removing growth, care must be taken so as not to damage the antifouling paintwork. Coupled with our divers' experience and the very latest in hydraulic motorized hull cleaning machines - the "Triton V" - we are able to safely clean the hull without causing any damage to the vessels' paintwork. The "Triton V" machine is equipped with three rotating brushes, which are fully adjustable for correct brush pressure to the ships hull. The operational speed is high, allowing for the complete cleaning of a VLCC with two machines in less than 12 hours.
